Ale Jordao, “Casa Electrolux” Feb. 10, 2015 Sao Paulo, Brazil

by

Our friend, Ale has an opening at Casa Electrolux in Sao Paulo, Brazil and it looks to be amazing as per all things, Ale!

Ale Jordao:
Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Ale Jordao’s art reconfigures and appropriates daily objects from furniture, skateboards to neon signs and rethinks their purpose through his intellectual and emotional design process.  Ale vocalizes his own brand of humor and social commentary throughout his works and ultimately with his finished, functional and beautiful pieces.  As an example, Ale turns entire Volkswagen cars into beautiful tables, chairs, and other daily objects allowing engagement and interaction with his work.  Ale studied at Domus Academy in Milan Italy and is currently making mind-blowing art in his studio in Sao Paulo, Brazil.  – ykc

Mark-Oblow-Brazil-Video-Still-2

Mark Oblow is the first American artist invited to install the 150ft mural for The WallRide Project in downtown Sao Paolo, Brazil.  Stance Socks and filmer Ricki Bedenbaugh capture the interconnectedness we all share through love, family, friends, art, and going skateboarding together with this 4:40 video.  Click the link below or the image above.

Mark Oblow:
Born and raised on Oahu, Hawaii and sponsored for both surfing and skateboarding in the 80’s, Oblow’s creative spark was clear when he picked-up the camera and had his first paid photograph published in Thrasher Magazine by age 14. An acute eye for photography, fashion, graphic design, art and penning poetry daily, a natural trajectory towards utilizing all of his tools to create his own artwork has been a constant thread throughout his life.  Drawing inspiration from connections with people, Oblow turned his photographs into multi-layered, multi-media pieces, continuously exploring and expanding and essentially immortalizing the people he photographs into stark and beautiful finished pieces.  Published in books by Tom Adler to David Carson with openings in California, Sao Paulo, Brazil and Japan.  Oblow currently lives in Southern California.

Callum Paul in Crusty Coercion (Vans Australia)

HR_MM56_Vans_-07531

If you saw this photo of Pass~Port Pro Callum Paul but still don’t think it was a make, sit tight for the curtains in the latest video edit from Vans VZ/AUS. “The world famous bubbler boy Callum Paul, Jack “Am I still on the team?” Kirk and the emotional artist that is Jimmy “Six Balls” Roche made the Trans-Tasman journey. From New Zealand we had East meets West Jack Fagan who was flown in from Wellington, and then the local boys Elijah Robertson, Nico, Chase Collins and everyone’s favourite, Mikey Bancroft.” Filmed by Haimona Ngata and Bill Bycroft, edited by Bill Bycroft. We think there was even a cameo by Broadcast Wheels rider and New Zealand wanderer Gareth Stehr.
