Village Psychic for Permanent Co-op

Permanent Co-op is the first collection of goods from our own label, in cooperation with our extended family of brands, artists, designers, photographers, etc.  Released only periodically and truly collaborative in nature, both entities share ideas and concepts- working together to create a very limited run of products that are only available at premium retailers and in the web store. For the debut capsule, we teamed with the enigmatic Village Psychic NYC, one of our favorite digital destinations. This collection consists of wearable goods designed around the mantra “A Cosmic Alliance”, exemplified by the Candle of Good Fortune. For several millennia, it has been believed that those who bear the Candle of Good Fortune will be blessed with positive energy and providence. Basically, good stuff will happen to you if worn regularly. So we offered the collection in two colorways. Balance out the universe and get both. Photography by Todd Midler.

Mark Penxa – 1975

1975_Penxa_promo

One of my favorites, Mark Penxa will be showing some new paintings this September at 1975, a very cool art space in Rochester, NY that’s been hosting a number of sick shows over the past few years.  You may recognize Mark’s work from the excellent Jazz 101 and Blues 101 series of graphics he did for Stereo recently. The opening is Saturday September 12, from 7-10 pm. so get there if you can.

About the show:

“We are thrilled to welcome back Mark Penxa to 1975 Gallery for a solo exhibition of new works. Mark will be joining us for the opening reception.

Taking its name from tempting, vacuous “click bait” headlines; “You Won’t Believe What Happens Next…” exhibits a brand new series of paintings from Detroit-based artist Mark Penxa.

moblow by mark oblow!

by

in mark oblow‘s own words…

i made the brand moblow, so i could make what ever i want, how i want.

i’ve been involved with surfing and skateboarding since the early 80’s, from being a sponsored rider to working retail to, working for some of the smallest core brands to some of the industries biggest. it all taught me so much, and introducing me to so many great people.

so with moblow i want to keep it personal and i want to keep it me.

the t-shirts i make will only be 150 sold of each print. keeping it very limited to a global market. but making each t-shirt or item a special piece of art.

all the products that are posted will not be remade, so when it sells out, its gone.
